Whether you're working with a crate engine or building your own combination, MSD has the performance distributor ready.

Ford distributors present a challenge when changing the distributor gear due to their pressed fit, the need to cross drill the distributor shaft and set the gear to a specific height.

MSD now offers Ford distributors with steel gears for use with hydraulic roller cams.

In the world of modern engine design, it's hard to beat a hydraulic roller camshaft for all-around performance. It's crucial to match the distributor gear with the cam material to prevent premature failure of the cam or distributor gear which can lead to engine damage.

Features:

Nylon pads ensure smooth operation of the advance weights

Steel Gear Installed

CNC Machined Billet Aluminum Housing and Billet Aluminum Base

Advance weight pins are staked and tig welded to the plate

Polished steel shaft is QPQ coated and guided by a sealed ball bearing

Maintenance-free magnetic pickup and precision reluctor create stable trigger signals throughout the rpm range

Mechanical advance assembly can be locked out for crank trigger systems

Easy-to-adjust mechanical advance with supplied springs and stop bushings

Advance plate and weights are fine blanked from chrome moly steel and QPQ coated for friction reduction

Product Specifications:

Product Details: MSD's Black Small Diameter Distributor w/Black Cap and Steel Gear, requires the use of MSD 6, 7, 8 Series Ignition.

Cap Color: Black

Color: Black Anodized

Distributor Cap Included: Yes

Distributor Type: Magnetic Pickup

Engine: Ford 351W

Gear: Steel

Gear Material: Melonized QPQ Coated

Grade Type: Performance

Housing Color: Black

Ignition Box Required: Yes

Ignition Coil Included: No

Ignition Rotor Included: Yes

Part Type: Distributor

Product Type: Distributor

Installation Notes:

Refer to Gear Lube Addendum
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0819/9110/6798/files/44c8f01edf04fd6bb20aa6fa43d918e46a3be369.jpg?v=1791653530
